Religious Education Begins

Religious Education Classes for 2010-2011 School Year: Preschool, Kindergarten and grades 1st thru 8th will begin on Sunday, September 12th, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 am.

All students entering the program for the first time should register by calling Carol Serbak at 724.745.3787.

2nd Annual Parish Picnic

September 12, 2010, St. Patrick Parish Picnic at the Yoney Pavilion in Town Park.

Fr. Jack will celebrate mass at 1:00 p.m. Followed by the picnic.

Parishioners are encouraged to bring a covered dish in a disposable container with a disposable serving utensil, preferably between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m.

Confirmation Candidates

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.
with Bishop David A. Zubik officiating.

Final preparation for Confirmation, all Candidates must attend

Final Preparation Sessions, scheduled for both Tuesday, September 7th and Tuesday, September 14th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in St. Patrick's Center.

Confirmation Retreat on Friday, September 17th, at The Spiritan Retreat Center in Bethel Park. Confirmation candidates (9th graders) will be notified by mail with more information on the retreat and their final preparation classes and times. Candidates only.

Confirmation Practice will be held on Sunday, September 19th, at 3:00 p.m. Candidates and their sponsors will practice and attend the Contemporary Mass at 5:00 p.m.

All Confirmation papers are to handed into the Religious Education Office immediately.

Football Pool

St. Patrick Youth Ministry is sponsoring a Football Pool each week throughout the Steelers Season.

The pool consists of a grid with 100 squares. Each square costs $1. There will be two separate grids available: one at the Pike Street exit and one at the parking lot exit. There will be one winner from each grid. The winner will receive half of the take from that grid.

Proceeds benefit Youth Ministry service projects.

RCIA

RCIA is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life. This Fall, St. Patrick will again begin a Period of Inquiry. During this period, teaching is given to people who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. These sessions cover basic information about the faith and fundamentally should communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no obligation involved in attending these meetings, they are intended to help a person decide whether they want to continue learning about the faith. Attendees at this stage are known as Inquirers.
