·Provide donations as needed in time of emergency or need
·Provide respite visits to the home (when requested) and
transportation for the elderly to Mass, doctor’s appointments, hospital visits, and
shopping
·Visit and pray with nursing home residents
·To comfort the very ill, some members create and donate prayer
shawls
·Developed a phone chain to alert members of prayer requests
·Sponsor the unclaimed dead at the Seraphic Mass Association
·Attend spiritual workshops and officers meetings at Diocesan
level
·Attend Cemetery Sunday at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh PA
·Coordinate the annual Angel Tree with Catholic Charities at
Christmas
·Provide Christmas and Easter gifts to the shut ins/elderly of the
parish
·Pray the rosary in church the 2nd & 4th
Wednesdays of the month at 6:30 pm
·Pray the rosary at local nursing homes on a
weekly basis
·Provide the Catholic residents (and others) of the local nursing
homes with gifts at Christmas and Easter
·Members
are active in the Parish as: Extraordinary Ministers of the
Eucharist, Lectors, Mercy (funeral) luncheon
coordinators/volunteers, Funeral liturgy coordinators, women’s guild
members, Saint Vincent DePaul, annual Festival volunteers and
coordinators, and many more Parish associations and activities
